Many churches need to increase their
ordinary funding in order to meet operational needs. While total
stewardship education can take quite awhile to implement, increasing
just the ordinary giving of families can be completed quickly in a
strategically structured plan that includes a combination of
mailings and presentations from the pulpit.
HOPE ASSOCIATES would work with you to
prepare a series of letters targeted to various segments of the
church and calling them to action. The process is to identify the
key element of attraction for each segment, graciously appeal for
prayerful consideration of a new level of giving, and to do so in a
specific period of time.
The ability to quickly increase
ordinary giving is dependent on being able to show the church has
been a good steward with the funds it has collected in the past. If
indeed it is true that the church has been accountable, then often
the only reason giving has not increased to adequately meet the
budget is that members have not been graciously challenged to make a
true sacrifice.
Our plan involves simple but
effective communications focusing upon asking people to extend their
generosity if they believe funds have been and will be used
appropriately to advance the mission of the church. If they don't
believe this to be true, they can be invited to share their
dissatisfaction for the sake of improving church operations. When
people are challenged to respond with either a "yes" or "no" and not
a "maybe", the church will receive both increases in funding
and valuable information that can help improve the faith community.
