In our service to churches, we
recognize treasure is but one part of stewardship; that great talent
is available in every church community and should be used; and that
time is life – an unknown quantity each is given to teach, to serve,
to provide for the poor and to continue the Mission. At HOPE, we use
our time at work aligning people, processes and technology to assist
in challenging parishioners to become even more accountable as
stewards.
Our capital campaigns seek to
maximize financial giving for the church by presenting options and
opportunities for families to take action as stewards. In unity and
justice, parishioners are challenged to make gifts of equal
sacrifice, not equal amounts. A $1,000,000 gift is often less of a
sacrifice than a $1,000 gift when considering that a true sacrifice
is made from what is needed to live. One who knew great sacrifice,
Mother Teresa of Calcutta, was quoted “If you give what you don’t
need, it isn’t giving.” Parishioners must be challenged to be good
stewards.
When people invest their time and
talents in service, their financial support follows as they begin to
fully understand both their need to give and the church's need to
transform their support into facilities, programs and ministries in
advancement of the mission.
Seeking capital gifts presents a
challenge of extraordinary stewardship where we educate people on
how they can make a truly sacrificial gift over a period of time and
at a level they may have never considered in the past. After this
pledge of major support is completed, our plan is designed to
convert that pledge into a higher level of ordinary financial
stewardship, resetting the "normal" level of giving for each
participating family. |
